There are four lights in the Telos Dynamic range from 320 to 800 watts. A grow light to suit all grow sizes. In this review I have tested the Dynamic 1960 designed for a 4x4 or 1.2m x 1.2m grow space.
The first thing I noticed with the new Telos Dynamic range is they are a compact grow light with a small footprint. This leaves a lot of room in the grow room to work around the grow light and for air to circulate. Much more than with a typical led bar grow light.
The next thing you notice is the lenses used and the excellent light spread they produce.
With this compact form you would expect the light to be concentrated with a risk of hot spots directly underneath, especially at low hanging heights. The opposite is true, somehow Telos have managed to do the impossible and beat most LED bar grow lights for uniformity of light distribution. Telos tests demonstrate 90% uniformity for the Dynamic 1960 in a 4x4 or 1.2m x 1.2m grow space at only 60cm hanging height.
The LED driver is by UpowerTek and are very high quality and efficiency. The LEDs are covered with a sealed lens arrangement so the whole fixture is IP66 rated. A big heatsink on the top of the fixture allows fast heat removal and keeps the LEDs cool.
I tested the Dynamic 1960 in a 4x4 space and recorded an excellent PAR output of an average 1,200µmols/m²/second. The total output of the lamp is 3.0 µmol/J and there is very small reflectance losses of 14%. resulting in a system efficiency of 2.59 usable PPF /watt.
The spectrum output of the Dynamic range is Full spectrum and suitable for growing from seed to harvest. The LEDs are a combination of warm and cool with LEDs mixed with 660nm Reds for enhanced electrical and photosynthetic efficiency.
There are a wide range of high quality accessories for the dynamic range. There are daisy chain cables for power and dimming to reduce the number of power points and clutter in the grow area. There is a basic manual dimmer option as well as the Telos Growcast lighting controller and commercial grade Telos Lighting controller.
