Autoflower grow lights

Autoflower plants can absorb 20 hours of light per day all the way through the growth cycle from seedling to flowering and harvest. This is more efficient than growing Photoperiod plants which require a change of light schedule from 16 hours in veg to 12 hours per day to trigger flowering.

Plants can only absorb a limited amount of light during the day. As Autoflowering plants have a longer light cycle they need a lower light intensity to reach their daily limit.

Grow light wattage for Autoflower plants

The light cycle for photoperiod plants is 12 hours per day in the flowering stage whereas the light cycle for autoflower plants is up to 24 hours per day.

This means up to twice as much PAR can be delivered to autoflowers than photoperiod plants for the same PAR intensity. To allow for this we recommend a lower PAR intensity of about 550 µmols/m²/second for autoflower grows.
