Grow lights can be small but powerful and capable of delivering a good yield thanks to modern LED efficiency. Small LED grow lights are very suitable for stealthy hidden grow setups in grow tents or mini grow rooms.

Small LED grow lights are much more efficient than other types of small grow lights

The best small grow lights on the market are high efficiency LED grow lights which deliver a high quantity of light with low power consumption. This not only results in cost savings for growers but also ensures a more sustainable and eco-friendly approach to indoor cultivation.

Small LED grow lights are much more efficient than other grow lighting technologies

Small LED grow lights are efficient and therefore run cool

The added benefit is high efficiency small grow lights will emit low amounts of heat. The reduced heat emission also allows for closer positioning of the lights to the plants without risking heat damage, making them ideal for small spaces.

Small LED grow lights are full spectrum

Small LED grow lights output full spectrum light suitable for growing healthy plants through all stages of growth from a seedling to harvest. There is no need to change the light source for different stages of growth. Small LED grow lights will deliver short and dense growth, perfect for growing plants indoors, particularly in confined spaces.

Small wattage LED grow lights can be used for seedlings and young plants

If you have one main grow tent or grow area you may not be growing as efficiently as possible. Adding a small grow area and grow light for seedlings can increase your productivity significantly. Putting very small plants into a large grow area is a waste of space and grow light energy.

Adding a small grow area and grow light to grow plants from seedlings means you can grow plants until 3 or 4 weeks old before putting them into the veg or flowering tent. This will reduce the cycle time in the larger grow tent buy 3 or 4 weeks. Putting larger plants into your main tent also means the canopy will cover more of the large grow tent area and use more of the light delivered. This is a much more efficiency system than using one single large grow area and grow light.

How many watts should my small LED grow light be?

The following charts show the wattage required for grow lights for a small grow area. For Photoperiod plants the grow light watts should be about 30 watts per square foot or 330 watts per square metre. This is to achieve an average PAR of about 900 µmols/m²/second which will maximise the potential yield from your grow space when reflective walls are used to increase system efficiency.

Wattage for small grow lights when growing photoperiod plants
Less wattage is required for Autoflower grows because the lights on period is longer, typically about 20 hours. you can size your small grow light at about 20 watts per square foot or 230 watts per square metre.
