Plants use all wavelengths of light in the PAR spectrum to photosynthesise

Grow light spectrum refers to the electromagnetic wavelengths of light produced by a light source to promote plant growth. For photosynthesis, plants use light in the PAR (photosynthetic active radiation) region of wavelengths 400nm-700nm (blue, green and red, the same range as human vision).

The term "full spectrum" refers to the inclusion of light wavelengths across the entire electromagnetic spectrum that are beneficial for plant growth. Blue Light (400-500 nm): Blue light is crucial for the vegetative growth stage, promoting strong stem and leaf development. It is essential for healthy, compact plant structure

Green Light (500nm to 600nm): Green light penetrates the leaves and canopy allowing for greater 'whole plant' photosynthesis. The addition of green light to blue and red results in pure white light allowing growers to observe the plants and identify disease or nutrient deficiency easily.

Red Light (600-700 nm): Red light is important for the flowering and fruiting stages of plant growth. Red light is the most photosynthetically efficient and beneficial to the overall system efficiency of a full spectrum led grow light.
